The Florida Association of Blind Students is a division of the National Federation of the Blind of Florida. Organized by and for students who are blind or visually impaired, this division intends to meet the ever-changing needs of students.   We are leading the way in offering resources on issues such as testing, accessible textbooks and materials, overcoming negative attitudes about blindness from school personnel, developing new techniques of accomplishing lab work, taking exams, and completing assignments, as well as supporting and assisting students in all areas of their educational experiences.  The Florida Association of Blind Students offers assistance to increase educational opportunity and equality through advocacy and motivational support.

By joining our ranks, you will have the opportunity to

  • Share your experiences and learn from others;
  • Network with professionals who are visually impaired;
  • Participate in seminars, workshops, and other events;
  • Build leadership skills through community activities;
  • Promote a positive attitude by demonstrating the abilities of blind and visually impaired people;
  • Educate other students about the various services and technologies available to them.
